What I’ve Added Today On The Hammock Page

Go to the Hammock Page, scroll down and you’ll see a title of the book, “The Hazard Family of Rhode Island” and when you click on the title it will come up in a PDF file. This wonderful book about the first family “Hazard” who settled in Rhode Island. This is a treasure of a book, it contains awsome information about their successes and accomplishments when Rhode Island first came to be. I feel like I hit the jack pot when I found this great history book, which had a detailed genealogy of the family. I’ve invited all those who would like to view their family tree in Ancestory.com, for free! Just private message me on my facebook page, give me your email address, I’ll send it to Ancestory.com and you will get and invitation to see the tree for Hansen, Lathers, Hammock and Hayden. The tree will extend when you click the arrow at the end of the last name entry, it will keep going and going and going!! 🙂 At least for most of the names. I still have a lot of research to do. Hope you enjoy seeing your family trees, let me know what you think.

Welcome Family!

I decided to create a blog for family because I think so many family members might be interested in seeing what I’ve been working on for so many years. Genealogy is one of my favorite passions and since technology has come so far especially in the past few years, genealogy research has become easier and easier.

I work from two primary, huge databases. Ancestry.com and Family Search. My computer has two screens, so I put Ancestry on one, Family Search on the other and work off both. I’ve found old original copies of documents, photos, family trees, books, census records, birth and death records and more. On this blog, I’ll be putting in links of other resources if you’d like to see what I’ve found, and maybe encourage you to do some genealogy yourself. I’ll insert links so you can learn how to research family members. Once all the data is uploaded here, I’ll post each week more, updated information, and I would encourage you to sign up with your email so you’ll get notices when I’ve added something in here.

PLEASE feel free to comment on my blog anytime, if you want to make suggestions, ask questions, and even add what you know about any of the family members I have. You could upload photos, documents, just anything you might have to share with all our family who I know are excited to see what I’ve found while researching all these years, and still find more. There is no end to genealogy work you know!

All you have to do is click on the family Sir Name at the top of the home page to see what I’ve posted. First and foremost, the Family Tree will be there. And if you’re asking yourself why does she only have a few name, “Hayden, Lathers, Hammock, and Hansen”? Because on the family tree for each of those names has their “spouse” and their family names. So for instance, you see only Hammock, on that family tree for Joe are both his father and mother who is Sherman, and their relations back as far as I can go, and of course, still looking. Those of you who married into any of the Sir Names I’ve listed can decide whether or not you want to do research on your name before marriage. I will give tips and tricks on where and how to get started, and how to find your long lost relatives, and, of course, you can ask me questions and I can certainly help you do that. If you’ve never done anything like this before, it could be and it is, very addicting, fun, and rewarding. Enjoy your time here and hope you learn something new about your family that you never knew before.
